For St. John LaLande Catholic School Graduates and High School Students at St. Michael the Archangel

Only students that have graduated from St. John LaLande Catholic School and are going to attend St. Michael the Archangel High School and / or students who are currently attending St. Michael the Archangel High School may apply for the Knights of Columbus 6506 Scholarship.

Details: 

• Students must submit a one-page essay by midnight April 15th to be eligible for scholarships ranging  from $250 to $1,000. 

 

• Each paper must include the name and grade of the student.​

 

Students may choose any of the below themes for their paper:

• Faith and Values: Describe how your Catholic faith has influenced your life and decisions. Provide examples of how you live out Catholic values in your daily life.

 

• Academic Achievement: Highlight your academic accomplishments and any honors or awards received. Explain how you plan to continue excelling academically in high school.

 

• Community Service: Detail your involvement in community service or volunteer work. Discuss the impact of your service on the community and on yourself.

 

• Leadership and Extracurricular Activities: Describe any leadership roles you have held in school or community organizations. Mention any extracurricular activities you participate in and their significance to you.

• Personal Goals and Aspirations: Share your future goals and how a Catholic education will help you achieve them. Explain why you are passionate about attending a Catholic high school.

Essay Structure and Presentation:

• Ensure your essay is well-organized, with a clear introduction, body, and conclusion.

• Use proper grammar, punctuation, and spelling.

• Keep the essay within the one page limit.

 

Additional Tips:

• Be Authentic: Write from the heart and be honest about your experiences and beliefs.

• Reflect: Take time to reflect on your experiences and how they have shaped you.

• Proofread: Review your essay for any errors and ask someone else to read it for feedback.
